Crocker/Riverside Parent Teacher Organization

Mission Statement

Our mission is simple—to support the teachers and staff in building a high level of excellence for all students by providing volunteer and financial assistance for academic and enrichment programs, to build a community that is welcoming to all families, and to advocate for the needs of our students.

For those who are new, in June 2018 our community voted to end our relationship with the state and national PTA and instead build our own non-profit that only supports our school. Because of that legal change and the incredible flexibility it gives us, we are still in the process of making other changes to the way we will structure our new PTO this academic year. But our mission—
supporting our students and teachers—hasn’t changed at all!

PTO Operations for 2019-2020

The Crocker/Riverside PTO is committed to including and engaging families in discussions about PTO business. We are going to try some new ways to engage you this year in the hopes that we can get more ideas, feedback, and buy-in. We will be holding fewer “general” PTO meetings but invite you to join us for the Executive Board meetings the first Tuesday of each month. We will also be sending out weekly emails on Sunday evenings to update you on your week ahead. We are looking for ways to update you regularly on our spending and get your input on spending priorities. If you have ideas, please email me at
