Go Batty with Miss Smith (Teacher-Hosted) – SOLD OUT

Event

Sunday, July, 14th 6:45-9:45pm

Family Fun with Miss Smith—come learn about migratory BATS native to Northern California!!

Miss Smith enthusiastically invites 50 friends (children with parents) to meet her at the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area to learn about and view these flying mammals on a three-hour Bat Walk and Talk event!  After beginning with an informational (but fascinating) indoor presentation at 6:45, the group will assemble into carpools and drive out to the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area to watch one of the largest colonies of Mexican Free-Tailed bats in California. The bats will be very hungry nursing mothers, emerging in large ribbons to hunt insects at sunset.  The spectacle will be an incredible experience, and there will be very good lighting for viewing the bats well into the night! To get to the bat-viewing site, we will travel to an area not open to the public, and there will be a small amount of walking for the best viewing. What a fun summer night for a PARENT/CHILD(ren) experience!

Miss Smith is very excited to share this BATTY adventure with you!
